I picked it up and didn't put it down until I was done! Loved this sci-fi. The world was interesting, but the sweet, extremely hot and slightly kinky sex was what blew me away. The guys were adorable, and I enjoyed watching them fall in love. The pirate aspect was interesting and added some advent...

Tasty sci-fi gem with pirates, questionable allegiances, and fetish. A pleasurable read.

This is much less freaky and unnerving than the blurb makes it sound, which for me was a plus. Tristan is only temporarily blinded, and though he is a prisoner, his captors aren't ruthless or unprincipled. The main conflict is Tristan's struggle between his loyalty to his government and his attracti...

Pirates are awesome. Especially when they're in space. It was a slow start, but once the pace picked up it really picked up. The story begins with Tristan and the men on his ship being abducted by pirates. Not only blinded and held prisoner, Tristan has to deal with Captain Valero and his repeated a...

Bought this on sale at Diesel (80%-off) or I might never have given it a shot. Having only read a few other books by this author, I can't say if it was typical of her work. It wasn't sappy or angsty, and no complex world-building that some writers try to shove into an unsuspecting reader's head with...

4.5 starsCaptain Tristan Kelley is temporarily blinded by a flash gun when his space ship is hijacked by pirates. Space pirates! With mohawks, piercings, tattoos, and sexy swagger lead by the soft-talking, charismatic Captain Valero. Tristan has been loyal to the Regency which employs him, but meeti...

Nothing really grabbed my attention too much. The storyline wasn't really that great, and the characters weren't exactly grabbing or swoonworthy. The fetish was kind of cute (when it was exposed), but I had a hard time deciding between feeling "eh..." or "urgh" when it was included with the sex. I di...

Weird-ish, but I love how well Sexton works Tristan's angle. Especially poignant was the part a little over half-way through when Tristan's falling into Stockholm. I love the way Sexton conveys the ideas through Tristan's thoughts and actions, but also that Valero actually cared about Tristan enough...

It's not quite what I expected of Marie Sexton. I had become accustomed to well defined characters, sure of themselves, being challenged to overcome some personal dilemma. The overall impression is the same in this book as well. But I did not feel as strongly for the characters. They seemed weak to m...

Fun little space romp, but it was too damn short! I feel that this could have really benefitted from more character exploration and tension. The fact that everything happens over such a short period of time made it all feel terribly rushed. But still, I liked it.
