Edgy, taut prose from one of my favorite Sci Fi writers. Butler says she hates writing short stories, but this collection shows that she's mastered it. Five stories, two essays, each with an afterword. Two of the stories won Hugos, and one also won the Nebula. My favorite of the stories won neither....
