I thought this was written especially for my "awkward stage"...
Jill is an ostensibly innocent spectator to her friend Caroline and several others bullying Linda, a fat girl. This goes on for most of the book, with Caroline constantly proving herself a more fearsome, expert bullier than anyone I've ever met in life. (Boys, teenagers, and TSA personnel included)...
I don't remember much about this despite having read it numerous times, except Linda spray-painting her boots to make her Halloween costume. I carry a general impression that I liked it a lot 25 years ago, and probably identified with Linda quite a bit.
Wow, this book is creepier and meaner than I thought it would be. Also, the lead character is a bitch.I loved it.
