Born in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire in 1948, Bob Cattell has written a number of children’s books about sport including the popular Glory Gardens cricket series.Others include the Strikers football books and the Butter-Finger trilogy written with poet John Agard. The royalties from his latest book, Bowl like the Devil, have been donated to the cricketing charity Chanceto Shine. First XI is his first book of fiction for adult readers and reflects a lifetime’s passion for the game of cricket.
