I have been reading Jeffrey Deaver’s work for a long time now and when I won this special copy of The Bone Collector from Goodreads, I was ecstatic. I have read some of the Lincoln Rhyme series, but it was fun going back to the beginning. Amazon / Audiobook / Goodreads MY REVIEW I was ecstati...

Audience: Adult Format: Kindle/Owned She wanted only to sleep. - first sentence So, this is the original Lincoln Rhyme novel - the first in a long series. I have read others, but I don't remember reading this one. I chose this book because I needed a book written between 1900-1999 for Snakes...

So I watched "The Bone Collector" movie when I was a teenager and loved the character played by Denzel Washington. I decided to finally read the book because some people told me they really enjoyed it. I did enjoy this book a lot, the end reveal was pretty awesome, and I loved all of the characters ...

THERE WILL BE SPOILERS THROUGHOUT THIS REVIEW 18/8 - I have seen the movie a number times so I know who the killer is, but I can't remember his exact motive, so at least there'll be one surprise for me at the end.

I was tempted to give up when I hit this piece of description of the female cop, Amelia Sachs, on page 23: Her Julia Roberts lips grew taut. Her incredible beauty is described ad nauseum in the novel--we're told at one point she has "iridescent blue eyes." And Sachs came off early on to me as incred...

I like the premise of this book and the introduction of Lincoln Rhyme is one of the best in the Rhyme series, but if you take a step back, the plot is pretty convoluted and needlessly complicated. Still, it's an entertaining novel and 'better than the film'.

This book took me a while to read, not cause of bad writing or storyline, just because its very heavy writing with detail and exploration of the crime scenes, after one of the scenes id have to stop to give my time to process all the info, since I was trying to read it more than remember the movie
