Dr. Clare Burtonall is a hard working and conscientious Manchester-based doctor. But her private life is unconventional, to say the least. Her boyfriend, Bonn, is a male escort employed by an agency to fulfill the needs of bored, rich women. He is handsome, attentive and kind; in many ways the perfect partner. But a constant worry for Clare is whether she is special to him, or whether he just sees her as another client.
If that wasn't enough, Clare's job is fraught with danger. Working with the police and helping them investigate suspicious deaths, she is at constant risk. And when she is called to give her opinion on the death of a young Salford woman, Clare becomes further involved in the shocking, tragic workings of the Manchester underworld.
