I think Høeg is a very talented writer, but this book didn't quite come together for him. Parts of the book, especially when Peter was creeping around the school at night to save his friend August, were tense in a beautifully quiet way and I was moved. It's really weird and in the beginning it's hard to wrap your mind around what's going on and who the characters are and what they're doing here. I wouldn't have finished this book if it wasn't for an assignment.
