While Dallas has two murders in an accounting firm to deal with, Mavis comes to her about a missing friend who is in her childbirth class. Eva takes on the case to keep Mavis calm and happy. I liked this story. I liked seeing Eve and Roarke freaked out about Mavis and her impending childbirth. ...

Lieutenant Eve Dallas isn't having a good few days. Her best friend is about to give birth and Eve is supposed to be there, which to her is one of the worst nightmares (and she knows nightmares), she's dealing with a double homicide connected to one of the most prominent financial firms in the city,...

First, to borrow from Baxter too: "Coincidences are hooey" Second: I feel like I'm watching a half-season series. Whenever the case is so-so, the interpersonal can more than pick up the slack. Third: the whole baby thing carried me in laughter. There were some touching too “Hello, my baby. He...

I'm still a little stuck on Tandy's disappearance and the main case (the murders of a young couple who seemed to have no enemies) being connected. I'm not sure how useful this review is going to be, since I've already started on Innocent in Death and I finished this book yesterday. The layers of ...

Loved the book. It was full of drama and like always Roarke was there to help. I liked the emotion and even the ickiness of the plot. It got worse along the way - Still a bit miffed about the ending, i would have wished she got what she deserved. Fun to see Mavis birth and Summerset's presence was a...

(Audio version) I think this is my least favorite of the In Death series. First of all, the book shifts midway through to add a second, totally different crime and I didn't like that. Second, there was lots of focus on Mavis and she's my least favorite character in Eve's world. I know everyone el...

This is the first J.D. Robb book that I read, and I came away largely unimpressed. Set in a futuristic New York City, detective Eve Dallas starts off helping her friend Mavis as a birthing coach, even though she hates the thoughts of delivering a baby. Why she was there made no sense to me, since Ma...

Were it not for the "secondary" (in spite of the title) story line, I wouldn't have rated this 4 stars because it was difficult for me to follow or appreciate the business/data/stats. But it is a solid 4.
