After Bennington College, I worked at McCall's Magazine and then went to Ogilvy&Mather, New York during the "Mad Men " era. David Ogilvy and his colleagues treated me wonderfully, promoted me several times and then sent me west to become head of their agency in Los Angeles. I managed an agency of 200 great people. I was invited to be on the 1984 Olympic Committee and the boards of a law school and a major charity. I had a wonderful time in advertising.I moved to Reno where I joined the University of Nevada Reno as a full professor in Journalism. I taught marketing, copywriting and media ethics until 2009. I learned about campus politics when I served as chair of the faculty senate. I retired in 2009 after an equally wonderful teaching career. Now I write. I started at Bennington and just never stopped, although I kept putting the novel off until now. "The Red Queen's Run" opens with the death of a dean which my university pals tell me is an intriguing start since several members of the faculty are, of course, suspects.I share my home in northern Nevada with a kind and generous husband. Between us we have four children, eight grandchildren and are currently owned by a Golden Retriever.

I enjoyed the first book in this series, even with all the maddening drama that Red had to deal with, and really looked forward to reading this latest installment. Red is back as interim Dean of the Journalism School and is currently in the running to become the permanent Dean. She thinks she just m...
