Please note that I received this book via NetGalley. This did not affect my review or rating. Instead of doing a review of all of the stories (15 of them) I am only going to review the four that I really enjoyed and gave 5 stars to. Everything else was a case of me going what did I just read, or ...

As the name of the book suggests, this was an anthology of stories featuring love triangles. Even though some of them really didn't have much of one. As with all anthologies, there was a mix of stories I loved and stories I did not. There was an impressive amount of diversity as far as race and sexu...

This wasn’t exactly the novel I was hoping it would be. The side stories by the different authors were nothing to scream about, I didn’t think, but the main story about the ten delinquents left out in the woods for three days was what, had my attention. I wanted more of this story, I wanted to know ...

This review can also be found at Carole's Random Life in Books.I really liked reading this book. It handled a lot of tough issues and it handled them very well. I went into this book rather blindly having never read anything by Brandy Colbert before and hadn't really seen any reviews for this book. ...

Backlighting is the new whitewash. If the main character is literally a black void on the cover, it must be about a black character, but the publishers are hoping some white people won't notice. Sigh.Library copy

POINTE. Every single dark thing a young adult novel could be about is in this one. It’s a wonder it all pulled through in the end. The character is not one to love but feel for. And feel for her...and him, we do. All the dark aside, there's how she is a product of what she fails to acknowledge; then...

So yes, updating last night did not happen. Baking bread while reading did (and it even turned out!). Today I’m at work until 5, which means the bulk of my reading will have to happen this evening. The Grand Plan to Fix Everything by Uma Krishnaswami-finished Sister Mine by Nalo Hopkinson-finished...

Hmmmm.....where do I start? This book had a lot going on in it. It touched on sooo many topics to be about one person. Eating disorders, Pedophilia, Abduction, Depression, pretty much everything you can go through before you reach the ripe age of 18.A little history about the books plot. The story f...

tl;dr || ✭✭✭✭✩ || This is not an easy read. This book tackles some extremely heavy topics, and can be really quite difficult to read at times because of it. But its important. Its dirty and gritty and hard to swallow, but thats what makes it important. Trigger warning for anorexia, rape, child moles...

Not normally my thing but this was really good. Warning: adult language, sexual content, drug and alcohol use. None of this was for shock value-it fit in perfectly with the story and for those of you who say she could have told the same story without this all I can say is read it and then get back...
