Brian Moreland is simply money in the bank. I have yet to read anything of his that I didn't love and The Devil's Woods is his best yet. Kyle and his brother and sister, Eric and Shawna, grew up on the Cree reservation until their mother divorced their father. Eric and Shawna have grown distant from...
A prequel to The Witching House, this story also sort of works as a standalone.Abigail walks into the local bar covered in blood and claiming her entire commune family have been slaughtered. Sheriff Travis Keagan goes out to investigate and wishes he hadn't.Nicely paced read with engaging characters...
Blood Sacrifices is my first introduction to Moreland's work and what an introduction it was. Plain and simple, Blood Sacrifices is the best read I've read in years. It's that good. Influences of McCammon and King drip from the pages. Moreland's style is so easy and smooth to get immersed in. The ch...

Blood Sacrifices by Brian Moreland is the first book I’ve read by this author and as an anthology of his work, seemed like a good place to start. All four stories were previously published as single novellas, so it’s new to me but not new in general. This is so all of those people who buy this and t...

A twisted tale of violence, love, tragedy, and revenge. Marty likes poetry and is in love with a girl named Jennifer. Marty’s dad is a serial killer. About the only thing they have in common is the dark presence they both have inside. A guide for one and a demon for the other. Fast and brutal and un...
Great atmospheric read. I really enjoyed this short story. I will definitely be looking forward to reading more from this author. Brian has the ability to make a story pop to life in a limited number of pages. An action packed story that leaves the reader guessing and breathless.
