Really good story about Reyes' life and his early meetings with Charley. Not many revelations but it was interesting to read about his early days. SPOILER [I didn't realize Amador and him were very, very close.

We’ve seen Charley Davidson’s story continue through the books – now we look again at these events, but from Reyes’s point of view. This is a book that largely recaps a lot of what has been spoken about and touched upon in the main series. Often I’m not a fan of that when it comes to short stori...

I have never been a huge fan of Reyes Farrow's.. Well not until I think the 5th book. I kind of hated him. I knew he had a hard childhood. I knew his 'father'/step father whatever Earl was to him abused him terribly but I still didn't understand why he treated Charley the way that he did. And I d...

All his life, Reyes Alexander Farrow has suffered the torments of the damned. Only one thing has given him hope: the woman who radiates a light that no mortals can see; a light that only the departed can see... Told from his point of view, BRIGHTER THAN THE SUN chronicles the first time Reyes ever e...

4.5 AudiobookReyes, the tortured son of_________, tell his story from birth to when he falls for Charlie. His POV was not what I expected, he had more softness than we see from the other side of the story. I feel for him just a little bit more. I have no complaints other than I finished it in one da...

I'm torn on this book. I liked it because it was Reyes and his story, but I disliked it because of the abuse he received at Earl's hands. Thank goodness this was fairly short and did not detail the abuse, because I just don't think I could have handled that much darkness.

If you're a fan of the Charlie Davidson series and were curious about Reyes' POV and his childhood, here it is, but we warned this is NOT a snarky, sarcastic narrative about being the son of satan. The narrative is raw, often graphic and almost never amusing. Most of the information it gives the re...

This audiobook shed some light on the mystery that is Alexander Reyes Farrow by giving listeners a brief overview of his childhood, and the evolution of his relationships with the various characters that make up this series. The tone of the story was miles apart from that of the full length installm...

Brighter Than the Sun is a story for fans and readers of the Charlie Davidson series by Darynda Jones. Told in the first person, present tense voice of Reyes, the novella recounts his life from Charlie's birth to a point sometime within the first book of the series. I don't recommend this story for ...

My review and an extended sample of the audiobook are posted at Hotlistens.com. Brighter Than the Sun is completely different from any Charley Davidson book you’ve ever read/listened to. For one, it is told from the point of view of one, Alexander Reyes Farrow. Two, it doesn’t have all the snark a...
