My enjoyment of this book was night and day from book one. (Get it? Everything and the Moon, Brighter Than the Sun, night and day?)I only occasionally wanted to kill Charles, which might make him the most tolerable of Quinn's male love interests. I loved Ellie a lot. A LOT a lot. I thought the littl...
It was cute. But that is about all. There didn't really seem to be much of a conflict... or if there was one I didn't really care for it. I thought it could have been taken farther. It's lights, fluffy and fun, but that's about it. Originally published on GR in 2010
Now, see here... The book is rather entertaining and the plot holds much promise. It's a bit silly to take in, but once you accept that it's an implausible situation in real life, you start enjoying the book. Basically, he NEEDS to get married to get his money. She NEEDS a way to get out of he...
I feel that this book was 3 1/2 stars not just 3, but not much to be done about that given goodreads rating system. I liked this book, it had its high and low points, but it wasn't up there with other Julia Quinn books I've read. I think my problem is I started reading her later novels first, which ...
Better than the 1st book, Everything and the Moon! So enjoyable... and no steam until 2/3rds of the way through - wow!Ellie is Victoria's younger sister, and she's still living with their vicar father. Enjoyable historical romance with lots of humor but after awhile it got kind of corny and some of the plot was over the top. After falling at her feet, Lord Charles thinks he's found a woman to marry so he can save his fortune and Vicar's daughter Ellie agrees to a marriage of convenience.
So, this book is basically the H and H arguing ALL the time, and getting into a mishap after another. Having said that, I enjoyed this book because it was funny and full of smart dialogs, or I should say arguments. It was the perfect light reading that I needed at this time.
