To be honest, this book deals with a very hard, difficult, disturbing subjects. It involves incest, pedophilia, and domestic/child abuse, depressive states that lead to suicide attempts, and the list go on and on. This was the second novel for Yates. It was by far darker and sadder then the first. It was one of those stories when no one wins in the end.
