Lottie interacts in a variety of ways with all her friends and their friends. There’s a lot of introspection as Lottie questions just about everything. There’s a bit of action, including murder and ghosts. The characters are all pretty vacuous, deliberately probably. The artwork is clear, colourful ...
The highly anticipated new standalone full-color graphic novel from Bryan Lee O’Malley, author and artist of the hugely bestselling Scott Pilgrim graphic novel series. Katie’s got it pretty good. She’s a talented young chef, she runs a successful restaurant, and she has big plans to open an even bet...
Aimed at the female market (I think), this comic collection is about a girl fashion blogger, Lottie, and her trials and tribulations, centering on boys, friends, social media and a new mysterious acquaintance. Her life is one of fashion, parties and get-togethers but a mystery begins to unfold. More...
I only remember reading this series once but apparently I reread it two years ago? Huh. I related to the characters a lot more on this reread. I'm not sure what that says about me. I think every time I read the series I think I'll never read it again but here I am on my second reread so never say ...
This comic is pretty weird. The characters are a little all over the place and pretty unlikeable. I'll probably keep reading it because it ends on a cliffhanger and I need to know what happens. I thought it might be too gross (the title is snotgirl), but it really wasn't that bad.
I don't know what Bryan Lee O'Malley was doing here, really. Lottie Person is a fashion blogger, trend setter, and all around would-be Kardashian. She's a little vapid, a little shallow, but pretty likable (don't ask me how). Her actual life is a mess -- she has horrible allergies -- crazy horrible ...
I picked this book up because I kept hearing how great it was especially in regards to the artwork. I have to say that I've read better graphic novels. The art alternated between beautiful and just okay. (I'm certainly not an art critic but this is how I felt about it so...) The main protagonist is ...
Fun, cute and a little dark. Katie messes up things she doesn't understand and lives through multiple realities. I both like and dislike this character. She is given a chance to change a mistake and she can't get enough. She starts to take advantage of it. I really enjoyed this graphic novel and...
Overall this isn't a bad series. It's entertaining, the characters are memorable. The story drags at times and there are tangents that I found unnecessary and uninteresting. But I'm not mad that I reread it. I think I'll stick to the movie from now on though.
It feels like the series is running out of steam, like it didn't need to be six volumes (though the sixth volume is pretty huge...). More of the same. Continued use of the r-slur. The characters are getting kind of annoying.
