Bryan Van Norden is a professor of philosophy and Chinese literature at Vassar College. He has written, translated, and edited eight books, including Introduction to Classical Chinese Philosophy (2011), Mengzi: With Selections from Traditional Commentaries (2008), and The Essential Mengzi. His most recent book is a translation anthology, Readings in Later Chinese Philosophy (2014, co-edited with Justin Tiwald).
