Another dystopian future sci-fi thing involving genders, so again with picking it up. I added this to Mt. TBR before there were a lot of reviews, and I don't hate myself for reading it, but I'm glad it was short and easy to read. It's written in an irritatingly ditzy teenage style, which is squa...
When a virus makes everyone over the age of eighteen infertile, would-be parents pay teen girls to conceive and give birth to their children, making teens the most prized members of society. Girls sport fake baby bumps and the school cafeteria stocks folic-acid-infused food. Sixteen-year-old identic...
Hey, didja know I'm deconstructing this for the Lantern? You can find my posts here . This is a CD cover for one of Korn's albums. I'm putting it up here because it adequately describes the feelings this book brought up for me.Disclaimer: I love Megan McCafferty's books. This review may be biased.Yo...
This book had way too much preaching in my opinion. I've always hated it when religious people shove God in your face, which Harmony's character did a lot. However, other than that it was a great book with a great and unique plot. :)
"I was matched with the Jaydens, who put in a very strong bid: full college tuition, a Volkswagen Plug, and a postpartum tummy trim. […] It’s hard to believe now, but this was a pretty radical decision at the time. Though popular in major cities on the coasts, going pro was still kind of a down-mark...
Not sure where to begin. The book's concept was good, but the author totally messed it up with that good, evil, angel blah blah crap. I read the first 70 pages and got so damn bored that I left it there itself, didn't even finish this.Seriously, MELODY and HARMONY? Who has names like that!
holy eff... what a horrible book... not only does the language not make sense half the time, but seriously, teenagers getting pregnant and paid for it? not good... The language issue wouldn't be a problem if the author had explained the terms when she used them. Otherwise it's jabber and just confus...
the story would have gotten 3stars, but the language drove me crazy. I'm aware that teenage slang in the future will be quite a bit different than now, but I shouldn't need an English to future teen dictionary to get thru a book.
On the one hand, dystopian settings kind of freak me out. On the other hand, once I got into this, I zoomed along reading and I'm peeved that it ends all unresolved and waiting on a sequel!
