Pretty good story... I can see the survivor becoming a one-man vigilante if the author decides to make this a series.
Now THIS is what vampires are supposed to be! Not a sparkle in sight. Nothing but suspense and horror. I would recommend this to anyone who misses the days when vampires where frightening.

A swift, fine little snarl of vampire/Western funk--it rips along, with little patience for the expansive mythological noodling which can bloat much horror fiction. Ryker's prose is stripped-down, as is the plot, but the author manages to flesh out in terse flashbacks some complex character dynamic...
