This book intrigued me so much when I read the inside cover. I first asked myself how could anyone come up with this concept? A boy so desperate that he was willing to eat himself to death on live camera. I just had to read it. I devoured (no pun intended) this book within a few hours and I liked m...

**Minor Spoilers... Maybe?**Butter was not the type of book I usually read, but for some reason I fell in love with the characters and plot from the start. This book is just so strange that it drew me in, and I couldn't put it down from start to finish. Despite a few slower parts in the book, everyt...

This book is full of teenage angst, bullying, peer pressure and a life spiralling out of control when one bad decision follows another. None of the characters are particularly likeable, but I finished with feelings of hope for most of them. Will be recommending to the boys!

3.5 starsThe premise of this novel is what got me hooked in the first place. I have read a few issue books dealing with eating disorders. This one was a bit different and I enjoyed reading it.The characters didn't really stand out to me, but the story itself was really interesting. Butter was blinde...

3 stars. I guess the thing that drew me to Butter was its summary, something about a fat, 423 lb. pound sixteen-year-old who was going to eat himself. To death. On live video.Except the way I interpreted it was along the following: literally eating himself to death. Like nom nom my fingers taste so ...

You think I eat a lot now? That's nothing. Tune in December 31st, when I will stream a live webcast of my last meal. I can't take another year in this fat suit, but I can end this year with a bang. If you can stomach it, you're invited to watch...as I eat myself to death.- ButterThis is the opening ...

I must admit that Butter has mentioned a few problems that teens face today. Throughout the book, Butter narrates a story about being neglected by his father and self-conscience about his body image because of his romantic interest, Anna. There are many problems with the book, like, the romance bec...

This is a hard review to write. I’m really not sure what I thought of Butter. It was just way too different from anything I’m used to, so I don’t have any books to compare it to.But I felt I could relate on some level to the storyline, as someone who is overweight and knows several morbidly obese pe...

Butter is a High School student who weights over 400 pounds. One day, he gets this great idea of creating a website where he’d stream live his death by over eating on New Year’s Eve. Suddenly, this website makes Butter a popular kid; fat, but popular. I enjoyed reading how Butter deals with his new ...

Lange's debut novel works with a profound mixture of crucial topics: obesity, bullying, the power of the internet, parenting woes, and the power of music. If you suspect this book is a mess because it attempts to work all of these ingredients together, you suspect wrong. (Also, that's my only food r...
