This book was slightly better than the Alchemist. At least it's got a plot. Not some self-help book disguised as a novel.

Didn't hold my attention at all. I loved The Alchemist, but this one just seemed to aloof for me from the start. I had to abandon it.
I couldn't relate to this book. At all.
Surprisingly I liked this book a lot! I'm not a huge fan of this kind of literature but this one was quite enjoyable. Author's writing is very gentle, "fable'like" and calming" I'll grab another Coelho's book with pleasure.
I enjoyed this book, as I do all of Coelho's books to-date, but this one had a little bit too much religion in it for me. A good read and good plot, but the religion detracted a great deal from the book for me.
I didn't so much see it as a story of forgiveness, but as one of loving another person, more than you love yourself. The kind of selfless love that transcends all challenges and obstacles, and knowing that together all things are bearable, surmountable and possible!
