C. D. Verhoff's writing as been described as a delicious blend of fantasy and science fiction infused with the supernatural. She has worked as a teacher, medical lab technician, registered rep in the financial industry and more. Authors such as Piers Anthony, Issac Asimov, Terry Brooks, Dean Koontz, Madeleine L'Engle, Anne McCaffrey and J.R.R. Tolkien were early influences, sparking a lifelong love of fantasy and science fiction. According to Verhoff, writing fiction ranks somewhere between eating warm chocolate chip cookies and riding the Millennium roller coaster at Cedar Point. She currently lives in Ohio with her husband, their two children and a dog they call 'Big Rig'. Her interests include: coffee, dog rescue, landscaping, The Walking Dead, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Castle, The Hunger Games Trilogy, HGTV, weird trivia, St. Faustina, Pope John Paul II and action flicks with female leads. One of her favorite quotes comes from Katharine Hepburn: Life is hard. After all, it kills you. Website: http://cdverhoff.blogspot.comTwitter: @CDVerhoff

I got this for KBR, but I have packed it in at 34% read. I tried, but I cannot call it 'readable'. The tenses, the structure... lacking. Truly lacking. The idea, great, but the product? No, sorry. Not my cup of tea. If I had paid for this, I would be furious. I cannot recommend it at all.
