I was born in Taiwan, raised in the US, taught ESL overseas for eight years, and am now a father and husband living in the Pacific Northwest.My argument with David Shields about life/art, I Think You're Totally Wrong: A Quarrel, will be published by Knopf in January, 2015. James Franco directed a film version, with the authors playing themselves, to premiere in 2015. Excerpts of my work-in-progress, about two Muslim women, are in or forthcoming from the literary journals Harpur Palate, New Madrid, Pleiades, and Whiskey Island Magazine.
