A few days ago my colleague Jose Alberto talked about the failures of the quantifiers when telling us the calories we burn when we exercise. They are not the only ones who lie to us: Also the cardio machines we found in the gyms give us a misconception of the calories spent.As a general rule, most treadmills, ellipticals and static bikes throw us several data while we train: the speed at which we move, the revolutions in the case of the elliptical and the static bike, the inclination in the case of the tape, the time, the kilometers traveled and the total caloric expenditure. Can we trust that data?
