This was an interesting take on the shapeshifter sub-genre, and a much darker tale than what I'm used to from this author.Dr. Nick Sewell is a professor at Cambridge university. He's also a werewolf, bitten and turned by an ex-boyfriend, and still struggling a bit with the wolfy parts of him.Julian,...

The prose was strong and convincing, the story was atmospheric and rich with detail, and I liked the idea of a PNR set in a Cambridge college, of all places. Nick was appropriately British, and the whole thing had this air of being faintly but politely confused, which was very appropos. The probl...

I normally enjoy JL Merrow but this one didn't work for me at all. It was just not working for me...at all. Sad.

It just meant you were bigger and could hit harder. Or, as if might be, had sharper teeth."Nick is a professor and a werewolf - turned ...

My very favorite thing about this book was the atmosphere. It's set at Cambridge, and the descriptions of the college they're at and the town and surrounding lands are fantastically vivid and gothic and great.I also really enjoyed that the story was told both from Nick's POV and from Tiffany's. I ...

I had some high expectations for this book but unfortunately, I just wasn't feeling it. Which is a shame. I've read this author before and enjoy their writing - this one just didn't work for me.

I felt pretty conflicted reading this one. Parts I enjoyed and parts just turned me off. The world building was a plus, mostly liked the secondary characters... but I didn't like to overuse of the word 'dearie'. Ack. And really couldn't get away from the feeling that Julian was shagging Dr. Nick Sew...

This books fits several of my favorite book categories. It's fantasy, better even urban fantasy, it's an M/M novel and it takes place in a city I actually now and have been, which makes the whole story more real (if you can say this about a fantasy book). The story is well written. I was a bit annoy...
