Canyons of Night by Jayne Castle Book 8 of Harmony -- Book 12 of Arcane Society -- Book 3 (final) of Looking Glass Trilogy -- Book 0 of Rainshadow Charlotte Enright, owner of a small antiques shop called Looking Glass Antiques on Rainshadow Island, and Slade Attridge, the community's new chief o...
This one, third in the series, is futuristic, though it was a bit hard to tell. It uses an often used formula...bad boy goes off and then returns after making good and being injured, girl is still waiting/has returned to the same place...and it's done quite well. It's the futuristic part that seems ...
This is a quick and easy read. The characters were fun to read about. I wasn't too engaged with them. The hunter psi is again appearing, but not as interesting as some of the previous stories. Still, this world is an interesting one for me. I still want to know what is going on with these dust ...
One of the best of this author's recent releases, which isn’t saying much. None of her recent books can compare to her wonderful novels of the previous decade. This particular story is solid and well constructed, the descriptions are intriguing, but the characters are not exactly 3-dimentional, and ...
OK, so, a dust bunny earns an extra half-star no matter what. Rex rocks.3.5. Liked it lot through about three-quarters, but it slumps at the end. Information dump solution.
I actually enjoyed this one. It's the last in the Looking Glass Series, but definitely sets the stage for a new Harmony series. I liked the island and the characters. I'm curious to see what comes next for Harmony.
Honestly this doesn't read much like SF. Apart from the fluff bunny it really didn't come across as all that SFnal. Slade Attridge is the new chief of police on Rainshadow Island. His career investigating paranormal events for the government is over. His last case had his psychic abilities go funny ...
What can I say...I love Jayne Castle (Jayne Ann Krentz, Amanda Quick)! She writes the most exciting romances. Her heroes are always to die for and her heroines are usually kickass. Canyons of Night is no different. I totally loved Slade Attridge. He is the perfect man for Charlotte Enright. Hi...
No matter what name she writes under a book by this author is always like putting on my favorite jeans and sweater. It may not be haute couture but it's comfortable and makes me happy. This one has everything you'd expect from this series, psychic powers, a spunky heroine and an alpha hero (and an a...
A good finale to the Looking Glass Trilogy, though I don’t think we’ve seen the last of the Arcane yet. This was the usual JAK/AQ/JC fare, only without (!) an annoying heroine. Yay! Good pacing, rather tight plot (though there were a few moments she lost me), great characters, good mystery, a funny d...
