4 HEART POUNDING STARS I think my heart was in my throat from the first moment I started reading this book. I was so scared and sad for Livvie. She was emotionally abused as a child and now used physically and mentally by a man who's emotions had been cauterized by his own harsh life. How two men,...

I read this book a long time ago, rated it 5 stars, but never reviewed it. Recently I did a reread and wanted to write some focusing on Caleb. I love Caleb, who is one of my top ten of all times in the book boyfriends department. The first thing that stands out to me in the beginning is how much ...

I've just finished listening to the audible versions of the the first two books in the Dark Duet series. Both are narrated by Emily Durante, who presented a convincing portrayal of the characters. Neither book is for the faint of heart!

Not what I expected. It's gritty and rough. Livvie has been kidnapped and will be sold in a slave auction. The slave training introduces us to Caleb's world. It's interesting to see a relationship form. Looking for more dark reads? Check out my blog. http://readingkeepmesane.blogspot.com/

O.M.GWhat else can I say, is one of his kind. A great story. At the end, it make you question yourself. In the real world, you know waht yuo should feel about this, but is so well writing that you don't know how you should feel about it.

The tricky thing about abusive relationships is that even the people in them don’t always realize that they are abusive. It is common for the participants (both abuser and victim) to have been victimized in the past, be it through neglect or active physical, sexual or psychological abuse. So often...

I only made it about 20% in before knowing for sure this was not for me. I skimmed a bit farther ( maybe 50%) to see if it got better, but if anything, it seemed to be getting worse. This is the most icky-squicky thing I've ever read. I knew the basic premise going in, so I should have been prepar...

Dark. Holy mother of god dark. I feel almost as mind f-d as the girl in the story. I had to remind myself at times that she was being raped, and folks it IS rape. So many mixed emotions with this story. Props to the author though, she went balls to the wall on this one. Absolutely no compromise ...
