Carol Houlihan Flynn was born in Chicago, and went to several schools: Miami University, University of Illinois, Brown, and U.C. Berkeley. She likes to move around, and has lived in Providence, Berkeley, London, Brooklyn and finally Jamaica Plain in Boston, where she lives with her husband, David Tarbet. Between them, they have four children and eight grandchildren. They divide their time between Boston and Tongland, a tiny village in Southwest Scotland.Carol published a mystery novel, Washed in the Blood (Putnam 1983), and if you move fast, you can still get it on the internet. She has spent most of her writing life in the academic world, teaching at New York University and Tufts University. Her academic works include The Body in Swift and Defoe (Cambridge 2005) and Samuel Richardson, a Man of Letters (Princeton 1982), and many articles about eighteenth-century English and Irish writings.Carol is writing a novel, CAN WE KNOW THAT JESUS SAVES US.
