Hi! Thanks for visiting my author page, here on Amazon. I'd like to tell you a little bit about me and my writing.First, let me tell you about my new e-book. Called 'Second Chances: true stories of living with Addison's disease', it features sixteen people who tell their own personal story about what it's like to live with this rare, potentially fatal, health condition. These are men and women from the USA, Canada, the UK, Belgium, South Africa, South Korea and Australia. Their stories range from traumatic to uplifting - and even humorous - and they demonstrate our human strength to keep going through the toughest of situations. I'm one of those sixteen, by the way, and I know how hard this illness can be. I'd love you to download the free sample and read it. I was born in Glasgow, in Scotland, quite some time ago, into a family who loved to tell stories, and read them. It's not surprising I started writing them. My first job was as a keeper of other people's stories - as a librarian. Then, after my four daughters were born, I went back to my first love and started writing short stories again. The first one was published in 1999. It's called 'Marion'. It's a bit autobiographical, and you can read it in my e-book 'Ordinary Domestic: collected short stories', which came out this year. For the last ten years, I've been teaching creative writing, mostly through The Open University in the UK. It's a job I really enjoy because I love helping people discover their own innate gift to tell stories, and I love helping them discover the best ways to express themselves. That's why I've produced 'Creative Writing Prompts To Feed The Imagination'. This little e-book assembles some of my favorite writing prompts and hints.A few years ago, I co-authored a memoir of Eileen Munro, called 'As I Lay Me Down To Sleep'. It's a very moving, modern story about a troubled child. Why not visit my website at www.carolmckay.co.uk or my blog - http://carolmckay.blogspot.comAll best wishes,Carol.
