If I thought Kaylin was frustrating in the first book, she was doubly so in this one. For such a curious person, she is oddly content to stay dumb and clueless.I spent way too much of this book being upset with her behavior to understand how I still enjoyed it. This makes no sense to me at all.
4/5; 4 stars; A-I really enjoyed this addition to the chronicles of Elantra. Kaylin Neya certainly gets challenged by all the powerful groups in her world. This book takes place pretty much exclusively in the Barrani High Court. Kaylin helps some powerful people, proves herself on more levels, and ...
*Genre* Fantasy*Rating* 3.0*First Thoughts upon finishing the book*Funny, but, I agree with most reviewers in saying that this cover his hideous. Yet, it didn't prevent me from reading and enjoying this book. Kaylin, once again, is in over her head, and by the skin of her chin, she once again saves ...
I was a little trepidacious when I read Sagara's [I hate that she's filed under somebody else's name!] own comment that the book had intended to focus on the Barrani court but had ended up investigating the relationship between Kaylin and Severn. "Ack! Another YA romance!" Fortunately, it didn't r...
The first comment that has to be made about this book is that horrendous cover! It does not reflect the book's content or give any glimpse as to what type of book it is at all. If I were to make an assumption based solely on that, I'd guess it was an historical romance novel. It's just awful!Luckily...
Wow, intense-Kaylin and Severn grow closer, old scars are healing, slowly. They find themselves demanded in attendance to attend the High Court. There is a great Lord Dying, and it must be keep secret. Saving him could put Kaylin and Severn in danger, the Barrani guard their secrets. There is more ...
Kaylin is filled with mystery. Why is she able to do what she can do? I like her good heart. This cover is totally odd for me. Looks like a historical romance. It isn't. This second book was a great continuation of the first. I love learning more about Kaylin and the dangers she encounters as...
I usually enjoy Michelle Sagara West. I didn't really like this book. It seemed to have a good plot, but then all this detail, irrevelent detail, kept popping up. West writes long books, but ususally I don't notice the length. Cast in Courtlight was shorter than her Sun Sword books, but I felt e...
CRYPTIC FOR A REASON------Just so happy that things worked out between the two of them. Now that they've moved on maybe they can work on moving on together. What is Nightshade up to?
