Born and raised in southern West Virginia in McDowell County (home of the Rocket Boys), I married my best friend and high school sweetheart, Robin, in 1979. Shortly afterward we moved to Knoxville in the Tennessee Valley. For a little more than two decades, I have been blessed to be a stay-at-home mom to our three children and for the last 17 years as a home school mom. We have successfully graduated our two oldest children, Brittany and Nicole. Austin is expected to graduate our family home school in 2012. Although I've enjoyed writing stories and descriptive letters to family and friends regularly since attending junior high school, I did not imagine it developing into something more. However, after our first daughter was born, I was inspired to write a story for my little princess. The desire to paint images with words across a blank sheet became infectious and soon I had written several children's stories. The demands of a growing family and the priorities of home schooling eventually caused my dreams to be put aside for a brief time. Last fall, it was time to blow the dust off some of my early works in the pursuit of writing for children. Some of my stories were inspired by Robin's grandmother who was a gifted storyteller. Inspiration from one of her true stories led to the creation of The Tale of Ole Green Eyes. Currently, I am working on a second book featuring the same characters from The Tale of Ole Green Eyes, and hope to develop a book series to entertain my young readers.
