Catriona Hoy is a children's author, based in Australia but born in Scotland. She is also a science teacher and mother, so she wear several hats. Catriona writes mainly picture books but also for children's magazines. Most of her stories are about her family or real experiences, although of course there is poectic licence. And they sound nicer on paper. Her brother refers to her family as 'the Griswalds' because things just seem to happen to them. But one person's disaster is another person's great story to tell at parties...or in a book.
