Yeah, there's no way in the real world that a litter of kittens is going to be born with four normal limbs and two wings; genetics don't work that way. But, a story about kittens with wings? Awesome. Reality can take a nap.
Oh snap, I completely remember this book. I guess I had a much earlier introduction to Le Guin than I ever expected. I literally loved the Catwings books to death when I was growing up, out of the three books I had only one is still alive. They're fun, whimsical adventures for young kids just learning to read. My future children will definitely have a set of these books on their shelves!
