I usually cannot stand books with characters who're idiots or plots that rely on those characters being idiots, but this one wasn't so bad. In fact, I had a damn good time. I've met single-cell organisms with more going on upstairs than reporter and all around doofus Wendy, but Harlan Coben made her...

Caught, the new thriller by Harlen Coben, opens with a Dateline-type predator sting. Dan Mercer, a social worker who devotes his time to at risk kids, is responding to a call from one of them, a teen-age girl. She has asked for his help, asked him to come to her foster family's address. When he g...

7/08 - Exciting book with a twist that I didn't see coming. This is 3.5 more than 4, but I'm feeling generous today. I kind of felt like Coben was trying to get a few messages across with this book, namely the importance of internet security and underage drinking permitted by parents. I don't lik...

This was a perfect choice for a rainy cold Saturday, I read most of it in one sitting. What I enjoy about Harlan Coben is that his books are fast-paced, edge of your seat, suspenseful stories with great characters. So why only two stars if this book was exactly what I was looking for? It came down t...

I love his writing & sense of humor! It was nice to see little cameos from Coben's other series on Myron Bolitar. The story is intense. I think I liked it so well because I've thought about the nature of American Justice & if those accused of especially henious crimes are really ever "innocent un...

Wonderfully intricate plot, but not up to his usual level of quality. I think it's the characters, who seem rather flat (and not very nice people, except the victims).

So far, a good read..this is my first Harlan Coben book, although I do have a ton of his books on my bookshelves. Although, I am enjoying the book very much, I am not seeing what quite stands out ith other authors of his caliber...yet! I know alot of people who love his writing.

Third time was not the charm for Harlan Coben's standalones and me. The first 2/3 of this audio, ably read by Carrington MacDuffie, made me hopeful and I was willing to overlook some of the more contrived plot elements but the ending just annoyed me to no end. I have learned my lesson, finally, an...
