Celeste Cooper Biographyhttp://CelesteCooper.com Celeste Cooper is a retired registered nurse and lead author (co-author Jeff Miller, PhD) of several self-help books for coping with, and managing, chronic pain and illness. She is also a contributing freelance writer on chronic pain and fibromyalgia and writes a blog. Celeste is a participant in the Pain Action Alliance to Implement a National Strategy, and a member of the citizens/patient leadership group "Relieving Pain in Kansas City", also an initiative of the Center for Practical Bioethics. She believes in the need for patient outcome based research on pain that includes contributions by patients.Through her books, writing, and advocacy, she hopes to move forward the effort for not only coping with chronic pain and illness, but also changing the way pain is perceived, judged, and treated. On a personal note, Celeste, like you, knew she had to find a way to redefine her goals and find things she could continue to enjoy so pain would not define who she is. She once loved downhill skiing, dancing, teaching racquetball, extreme hiking, and more. Writing has allowed her to not only help others, but also help herself. Now she turns her attention to family, enjoying those good days and redefining dance through the gentle movements of T’ai Chi. She has found intuitive ways to appreciate her love of nature through poetry and photography. So, please take a moment to visit her website, created for you, her readers, and for those who share this intimate journey.
