She is also a contributing freelance writer on chronic pain and fibromyalgia and writes a blog. Celeste is a participant in the Pain Action Alliance to Implement a National Strategy, and a member of the citizens/patient leadership group "Relieving Pain in Kansas City", also an initiative of the Center for Practical Bioethics. She believes in the need for patient outcome based research on pain that includes contributions by patients.Through her books, writing, and advocacy, she hopes to move forward the effort for not only coping with chronic pain and illness, but also changing the way pain is perceived, judged, and treated.On a personal note, Celeste, like you, knew she had to find a way to redefine her goals and find things she could continue to enjoy so pain would not define who she is.
