Celia R. Caputi Daileader was born in Long Island, New York, and studied in Washington D.C. and Boston. She received her doctorate in English Literature--specializing in Renaissance drama--from Brandeis University in 1995 and went on to teach at the University of Alabama and Florida State University, where she is currently Professor of English. In addition to her two Cambridge University Press books and co-authored projects, she has published articles, essays, poetry, and program notes in top-tier venues. She has been cited in TIME magazine (European edition) as an authority on the representation of women in Shakespeare and his contemporary Thomas Middleton. She has also recently published a novella, SHE DANCES THE TARANTELLA, under her maiden name, Celia R. Caputi. She resides in North Florida during the academic year and in southern Italy during the summer. Her short-story written in Italian, "Come l'ago della bussola," was recently accepted for publication in the volume LINGUA MADRE DUEMILATREDICI - RACCONTI DI DONNE STRANIERE IN ITALIA and will be in print later this year.
