Charles Colyott lives on a farm in the middle of nowhere (Illinois) with his wife, 2 daughters, cats, and a herd of llamas and alpacas. He is surrounded by so much cuteness it's very difficult for him to develop any street cred as a dark and gritty writer. Nevertheless, he has appeared in Read by Dawn II, Dark Recesses Press, Withersin magazine, Horror Library Volumes III & IV, Terrible Beauty, Fearful Symmetry, and Zippered Flesh, among other places. I liked the first anthology much better. This one seemed like a poor matching of the subject matter. The first anthology was creepier also. There were three stories that were truly creepy to me. But the book held my attention.

Very good anthology. Some stories were downright creepy. There were a few duds, but that's anthologies. I never read any of the stories, so they were new to me.

Anthology of a few big name and a lot of little name horror writers that somehow surpasses many of the "Best of..." collections that feature mostly big name writers. Could it be that the lesser known are that much hungrier that they go the extra mile to put out their best stuff?
