Nabil Boumrar was born in Algiers, a large capitol in North Africa on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. He had a love of food from a young age and worked as a pizza maker in high school. He came the San Francisco in 2004 and started working in restaurants. He later attended culinary school and worked in several 5 star hotels. He started teaching his wife, Caitlin how to cook the traditional dishes that he grew up with so he could feel at home in California and she encouraged him to write them down. Over two years Nabil and Caitlin, who is a holistic nutritionist tweaked the recipes to make them friendly for gluten free and Paleo diets.
