In Chelsea Cain's first novel, Heartsick, we met serial killer Gretchen Lowe--beautiful, highly intelligent, cultured--and her victim/lover/hunter Archie Sheridan, Portland detective and family man. Sweetheart picks up two years after the grotesque events of Heartsick unfolded, and with the same cas...

Yes, this book was not as good as the first but that would be asking for so much. Heartsick was simply amazing and Sweetheart does a very credible job as a sequel. So much so for me, that I already have the third and fourth books in the series. Many authors take it upon themselves to use every adve...

These books just get creepier and creepier as they go along. It is not because there is alot of murder or violence in them. It is more the dynamics in the relationship between the two main characters. Just good readin'!

Eh, this series got old really fast. The first book was pretty good, but the next two really just felt like rehashes of the same story.

Three and a half stars.A satisfying if not as riveting follow-up to Heartsick, the first novel featuring serial killer Gretchen Lowell. As with the first, the attraction is the bizarre relationship between Gretchen and her victim, detective Archie Sheridan. There is a new mystery that overlaps from ...

An enjoyable read, but I don't think it was as good as the first. Maybe because there weren't really any new characters added - those that were were either dead or not developed. The "bad guy" in this one was barely mentioned - a sideplot, yes, but there were very few surprises with the Gretchen/A...
