Cheri J. Meiners, M.Ed., has her master's degree in elementary education and gifted education. The author of the award-winning Learning to Get Along social skills series for young children and a former first-grade teacher, she has taught education classes at Utah State University and has supervised student teachers. Cheri was born in Logan, Utah and lives in Maryland with her husband David. They have six children and three grandchildren. She studied Humanities in London and at Stockholm University, graduating with High Honors in Elementary Education from Brigham Young University, and Elementary Education and Gifted Education from Utah State University.In 2008, her book Reach Out and Give won the Carol D. Reiser children's book award. Learning Magazine named the series a finalist for the 2006 Teacher's Choice Award. In 2005, Booklist named the books 'Top 5 Character Education Series'. Several of the books are currently translated into languages such as Portuguese, Arabic, Korean, Slovak, Indonesian, Greek and Chinese. Her new series, "Being the Best Me', will eventually include 12 titles.
