Cheryl MacDonald is passionate about history and mysteries. She has published 40 non-fiction books on Canadian history and is especially interested in the War of 1812. Along with four years experience as a War of 1812 re-enactor, she has written two biographies connected to the period, Isaac Brock and Laura Secord, and is about to launch the first novel in a mystery series featuring Colonel Robert Nichol. In 2012, Cheryl received a Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee medal for her dedication to historical research and writing. An ex-Montrealer, she now lives in rural southern Ontario.
