In a small North Carolina mountain town, women are disappearing. The residents of Cleary have every right to fear the worst for the five vanished women: Somebody has placed blue ribbons in the vicinity where each victim was last seen. At first, local Lily Martin seems unconcerned by the sudden crime wave. With her marriage broken, she has decided to leave Cleary. Things change, though, when she bumps into hunky bad boy Ben Tierney, rousing not only his interest but also that of her ex-husband, local police chief Dutch Burton.
