Chris Bond is an author, editor and publisher, founder, in 2006, of The Cornovia Press. He formerly worked at the Royal Institution of Cornwall and Cornwall Record Office where he catalogued historical and ancient manuscripts. Chris was born in Sheffield but moved to Cornwall at the age of five when his father, a miner, was offered a job at Wheal Jane. He grew up in Truro and went to school in Redruth, and has since lived in Camborne, Redruth, Mylor and Porthtowan, though after more than half a lifetime in Cornwall he has returned to live in Yorkshire. He writes mainly about the history, prehistory and place-names of Cornwall.The Cornovia Press specialises in publishing titles relating to Cornwall, its history and culture, including reprints of rare and obscure works as well as anthologies, reference books and original material. It also publishes books by Cornish writers, or those based in Cornwall, both fiction and non-fiction.
