Chris Taylor is an architect, educator, and director of Land Arts of the American West at Texas Tech University. In 2001 he began developing Land Arts as a semester abroad in our own backyard investigating the intersection of human construction and the evolving shape of the planet. His books Land Arts of the American West (University of Texas Press, 2009) and Incubo Atacama Lab (Incubo 2008) chronicle the development of this field-based research operating across the arid lands of the Americas--bridging the Atacama in Chile with the desert southwest of North America. He is currently working to create the Great Salt Lake Exploration Platform funded in part by the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts.
