Christian Moore is an internationally renowned speaker, licensed clinical social worker, and advocate for youth. He is the author of The Resilience Breakthrough, a guide for accessing resilience in a world of increasing instability and narrowing opportunity. Coming from a blended family of 12 children, Christian spent most of his childhood years on the streets. In a neighborhood just outside of Washington, D.C., he was exposed to a wide array of social problems, which opened his eyes to the many injustices that exist in our world today. These experiences, combined with severe learning disabilities and an inner-city volunteer experience as a youth, all contributed to Christian's eventual decision to become a social worker and help others who struggle with similar challenges. After fighting his way to receive a master of social work (MSW) and working in education, corrections, and a homeless program, Christian recognized the need for a new approach and created the WhyTry Program (www.whytry.org).Thousands of school districts across the U.S. have had Christian consult on how to increase resilience, lower dropout, improve school climate, prevent bullying, lower the achievement gap, and improve academics through teaching social and emotional education to all students. Christian's personal mission is to ensure that all human beings are given the opportunity to thrive, regardless of social or economic status, race, background, or other personal obstacles.Christian lives in the Rocky Mountains with his wife, Wendy, and their two sons, Cooper and Carson.Awards and other recognition:* Children and Adults with ADHD National Award* Joseph N.
