Falling in love with literature was easy for Christine Hughes. As a child, she was a voracious reader and loved to write. When it came time to go to college at Georgian Court University, choosing a major was easy - English Literature. In 1998, with a Bachelors in English Lit strapped to her hip, she wasn't sure which avenue to take - until she worked part time presenting life skills to elementary school children. It was in a school in Camden, NJ when she ran into a little boy - pants ripped, backpack falling apart - with his nose in a Harry Potter book. The way he obviously coveted the book made her realize she wanted to encourage the love of reading in others that Christine had all her life. She went back to school and earned her teacher's certificate and became a middle school English teacher. After nine years teaching others to appreciate literature, Christine decided to take the plunge and write her first novel, TORN - a YA paranormal re-released by Crushing Hearts and Black Butterfly Publishing in August 2013. The sequel, Darkness Betrayed was released by the same publisher in September 2013 and her third novel, a stand-alone NA Contemporary, was re-released by CHBB in December 2013. Though she loved writing for the YA set, she really found her love with Three Days of Rain - writing for more mature audiences. And though she loves it, Three Days of Rain was heart wrenching to write and she found herself drawn back into romance with a fun voice. Novels like Bridget Jones's Diary, The Devil Wears Prada and Lipstick Jungle were always fun to her. Summer days reading fun prose that wasn't meant to save the world - that's what she wanted to write. So she did and had more fun writing Target Practice - Operation: One-Night Stand than ever.Christine currently stays home to write while her husband works and her two boys attend elementary school. Don't bother her too much during football season - she's either cheering on her boys or crying in her pint glass over yet another Jets loss.
