I'm the creator and webmaster of the Gymnosperm Database, at www.conifers.org . From the home page there you can find links to my curriculum vita and a more personal biographical note. Suffice it to say, most of my publications deal with conifers, and most of my published photos are of conifers, usually with a strong ecological slant - I am above all an ecologist, seeing all of human and natural history through an ecologist's eyes. My day job mostly concerns endangered species management (ALL sorts of endangered species, though salmon play an especially prominent role), and my adventures mostly involve some combination of conifers, canoes, motorcycles, and backpacks. All are fit subjects for books, and one day I hope to wrap up a bucket list that mostly contains a list of things I want to write about natural history and its importance to building a working human society.
