Christy Jordan-Fenton spent her early years on a farm near Rimbey, Alberta where cattle drives, rodeos and brandings were common place. Her love of the outdoors began almost from birth and has influenced her in many ways. She has been an infantry soldier, a wilderness survival instructor, a bronc rider, a pipeline labourer and has worked with street children. She attended Norwich University (Corps of Cadets) in the United States, and has lived in both Australia and South Africa. She now lives on a scenic prairie farm in North-Eastern British Columbia with her husband and their three children, seventeen horses, a handful of chickens, three dogs, a llama and a rabbit. Her first book, FATTY LEGS (Annick Press fall 2010) was written about her Inuit mother-in-law's experience at a residential school in the Arctic and how her spirit could not be broken.
