~~Moved from GR~~ Vicious Circle (Felix Castor #2) by Mike Carey Something very bad is happening in London, and the rising of the dead is only the start of it. The ghost of a child has been stolen from her parents' home. A man ridden by a demon has become even more disturbingly violent. A local ...

Ghostbuster Felix "Fix" Castor is back for outing number two, familiar faces and all the usual baggage in tow. In this go-round we find Castor and reformed succubus Juliet tentatively forming a working relationship. Rafi is, seemingly, freed of Asmodeus. Pen is still the practical earth mother. Oh, ...

Brainycat's 5 "B"s:blood: 3boobs: 1bombs: 1bondage: 1 blasphemy: 4Bechdel Test: failDeggan's Rule: failAnother fantastic book from Mike Carey. I didn't react to this one as strongly as I did to The Devil You Know, but that's because I was prepared to read a noir whodunnit rather than a ghostbusters....

It was o.k. I laughed a couple of times and I mostly wasn't bored. I'll read another.

I wish there was more Juliet. Her ending in this book was by far the best part, same as the first.

This is another very good book, the second in the Felix Castor series and the second that I have really enjoyed. This is what the Dresden books should be (who knows, maybe the later ones are).

Better than the first book with more action, more characters, and a more intense plot. This time the protagonist isn't quite as alone, he has a couple of friends but he still needs more. He needs someone giving him encouragement when he's feeling guilty about his friend. (Which I don't even get--he ...

I like the character and his abilities. I like the world and the stories are fine, I just don't like the way the stories unfold. I'm not a mystery fan; I like urban fantasy. I get annoyed with Fix when he doesn't know things I've already figured out.

Mixed feelings about the book overall. Fix gets interested in a missing person case which opens up into a multi-pronged mystery. The mystery had a couple of twists which I enjoyed.I did think there was improvement on the pacing of the book, but there was a point mid-book where it bogged and I star...
