I’m not going to review City of Ashes indepth because this was basically a gleeful hate-read. Long story short: I acquired four books in this series before learning much about it. I read the first book back in 2014 and thought it was terrible but mildly entertaining, and after my last read I was in ...
Clary Fray just wishes that her life would go back to normal. But what’s normal when you’re a demon-slaying Shadowhunter, your mother is in a magically induced coma, and you can suddenly see Downworlders like werewolves, vampires, and faeries? If Clary left the world of the Shadowhunters behind, it ...
This is the second book in the Mortal Instruments series. I found the first book to be not so great, but not the worst. This book I really hated much more. I despised the romantic relationships/interests of the main characters Clary and Jace. I didn't really like the way one character becoming a vam...
For some reason, I'd completely forgotten that I was reading this book. Out of guilt, I then decided to give it priority and finish it immediately. It was a quick read and the number of obligatory eye rolls was not as high as I initially assumed. I'm not completely sold on this series yet though. Th...
⭐5 stars⭐"Well, I'm not kissing the mundane," said Jace. "I'd rather stay down here and rot.""Forever?" said Simon. "Forever's an awfully long time."Jace raised his eyebrows. "I knew it," he said. "You want to kiss me, don't you?"
I think the first (?) chapter of this was interesting then all the exciting stuff happens at the end. All the characters still pretty much suck and Clary is just getting tugged through her life. Does she ever get to be a real character that makes choices? [spoiler] The whole I'm in love with my si...
DNF at 40%I'm sorry Ms. Clare, I just don't like your writing. I tried to like your books. I wanted to like your books. I was disappointed in City of Bones , but it was intriguing enough that I was willing to give City of Ashes a chance. I was hoping that this one would be better than the first...
3.5 StarsPossible Spoilers...They really need to add the spoiler button to the mobile app *sigh* Anywho, this was pretty good. It was somewhat predictable. I'm sure everyone knew Simon would end up a vampire, but I didn't see the daywalker thing coming at all!The Clary/Jace show got a bit tedious...
After re-reading this I had to change my rating from a 4 star to a 3 star read. I just found it very slow and hard to get into. It picked back up at the end and that is what saved it for me. I still intend to continue the series, as I would like to finally finish it.
