too much time spent on set up and new characters. it's especially frustrating because I don't see how having those chatlracters' POV added anything to the story.

Writing reviews always gets harder as a series progresses. There's so little to speak of without spoiling something for someone. Are the people reading it those who've gotten this far in the series already and if so, what information are they looking for? Are people scouting ahead to see if it's wor...

City of Dragons not only continues the journey to Kelsingra, but shows us quite a few things referenced in the first couple of books.I enjoyed this one a little better than Dragon Haven and while it's still not quite at the level of previous series, it's a lot more interesting than the previous book...

This is the third book of Robin Hobb's Rain Wild Chronicles series and unfortunately also my least favorite installment so far. That's not to say I didn't like it, but I'm also sensing a definite slowdown compared to the first couple of novels. The book picks up from where we last left our group of d...

First off, I won this book via a giveaway hosted by Goodreads. It is rare that I find a series in which the books can be read alone without being too confusing and yet still swirl you into and irreversibly immerse you in their world.[a:Robin Hobb|25307|Robin Hobb|http://d.gr-assets.com/authors/120502...

Although this book had lots of pages, I agree with the other reviewers that it actually seemed really short - a small piece of one character's life, a tiny piece of another's... A couple of parts I found quite boring - for example, I didn't find it necessary to include so long chapters about Chalced...

I wish the Bird Keeper -letters would have been left out. Not enough relevant information regarding to the main plot in them. Otherwise up to the usual Hobb-standard. Looking forward to the final book of the series.

I guess the fact that the series doesn't have the word 'trilogy' could have been a hint, but yeah: this is not the third book in a trilogy. It's another middle installment, like Dragon Haven, only more so – or less so, since it's a good 150-200 pages shorter than the first two installments in the no...
